Do You Believe In LOVE?/¿Crees En El Amor?

Do You Believe In LOVE?

With Valentine’s Day around the corner I decided to dedicate some articles to the sometimes desired and sometimes hated “LOVE”

Some people don’t believe in love, after having suffered so many disappointments. And people who don’t trust that their partner is going to love them forever.

Why love someone if love can eventually end?

But there are others who prefer to have lost at love than never to have loved at all.

There are several kinds of love, love from parent to child, from child to parent, sibling love, and friendship and then there's the love of a couple, or romantic love. The love that you have for that person that you think is perfect for you. The person who has all the qualities you've always wanted, which is compatible with you, the person with whom you imagine living next to, until the last of your days, and which face you want to see by your side every morning.

But some people never have that experience, people who do not love at all. That makes me think that maybe there are some people who really don’t believe in love. But I think that they don’t believe in it because they have never experienced it, and if they have, it has been with a person who they believe could never be for them.

Others cling to a partner out of habit, because they have spent so much time with them that they feel an obligation, even if that person mistreats them, or disrespects them and they constantly feel that they have wasted so much time in their lives with that person that they don’t want to leave them in order not to feel like they wasted their time ... but that's a mistake. Never feel obligated to anyone, because we all deserve to be with the person that makes our world beautiful, the person who makes us smile, the person that helps us improve, that supports us, cares for us, and respects us.

What do you think? Do you think true love exists? Or do you think that love is stupid?

¿Crees En El Amor?

Do You Think You Can Rule The World? /¿Crees Que Puedes Gobernar Al Mundo?

Do You Think You Can Rule The World?

What gives us the right to think, or believe, that we own the world, when we are just young and immature teenagers?

We are all victims sometimes of thinking that we can control the world and make it what we want, just for the simple fact that since our bodies are developed, we believe that we are absolute masters everything around us, and of everything we want. Sometimes we rebel and challenge everything that crosses our path, without thinking about the consequences. Many times we make mistakes that we will regret for the rest of our lives.

Someone told me something once that gave me a lot to think about, because it is something that bothered me at the time when with great coldness in their heart the person told me that I had the mind of an old person... It was something that left me in shock because nobody had told me something as offensive as that, but I quickly asked, Why do you say that? And the response was even more shocking. They said, "Before doing something you first think about the consequences of what it can do to your life."

In that moment I realized that the youth of today all they think about is alcohol, drugs, sex and partying, without realizing that they are destroying themselves with such abuse to their souls, which they will end up paying very high for that, and in the worst of cases, end up on the streets of any city begging in the corner and waiting for some good Samaritan to feel compassionate about them and give them some money to at least eat something at that time, for he does not know if they'll eat or drink something decent for several days.

What you do today without thinking, you will pay for it tomorrow and you will never get the chance to turn back time and take back the mistakes you make today.

Do you think about the consequences of what you do today? Do you think life is just a party with no end and you must do whatever you want without thinking about your future?

Share this and tell us what you think.

¿Crees Que Puedes Gobernar Al Mundo?

What Does your Facebook profile say about you?/¿Qué dice tu perfil de Facebook de ti?

This is a continuation of the last article on How Gossip Spreads on Facebook. Today we will look at the question,

What Does your Facebook profile say about you?

I urge you to send us an email if you want a profile evaluation. Everything will be very discreet and the names will never be released, but we can tell you the image that you are giving out to the world in your profile.

I brought this topic because nowadays everyone is influenced by social networks, even your future boss will judge you by your Facebook profile.  Before deciding if you are going to get the job, they will have to see who you are in your spare time, what kind of person you are.

-The Party Animal: Do you have photos of yourself drunk or smoking marijuana, or a lot of photos of you drinking or partying? That will give the impression that you are a volatile person, who likes joking around and they will think that you might not be responsible at work.

-The Rude/Vulgar One: What if your profile has many curse words, or gossip, or sexual things? Or if you spend your time airing your dirty laundry online, telling everyone who you hate, who hurt you and all those things? This will make you seem as a bad tempered person who likes to gossip and can’t be trusted.

-The Romantic One: What if you spend putting things of love, how much you love your partner, your “baby”, and all that. Let's say that your partner "likes" everything and is always posting the same romantic things than you. What does that say about you? It says that you're in love, that all you think about is your partner and all they think about is you.

-The Overly Attached Girlfriend: But if the thing is only one sided, then it may be that your partner is more reserved than you and in that case you should be very careful how much you put in your profile, because to the world of social networking you are going to appear like an obsessive person.

-The Music Buff: If you like to post music a lot, it depends on how the person appears to be the rest of the time. If you're obsessed with music and usually share from a single genre of music then you just appear to be a music fan.

-The Adele: However, if you put romantic music occasionally, then people can think that either you're in love or want to be in love. But if you put songs of heartbreak, people will think you have love problems and someone has made you suffer so in that case, you have to ask yourself if that's what you want people to think, or maybe know about you?

There are many other things that people tend to share that leave a lasting impression in the minds of others who view your profile, from the hashtags # you make to the "likes" you give, they all say things about you.

For example, if your "likes" are mostly things of fashion and models and such, then people may think that either you work in the fashion industry or are studying for it, or simply that you are a superficial person and worry too much about appearances.
And if you give "likes" to people smoking marijuana, everyone will think you smoke marihuana even if you never mention marijuana in public.

Many times we are showing a false face to the world, because we are not aware of these things or perhaps you are showing your true face. But what if what you're representing in social networks is not what you want people to think of you? Then you have to start posting intelligently. Share things that have value to others, share fond memories that are not private, things that others can enjoy, because social media was created for the world, not for us individually.

What other things do you think that people post on Facebook or other social media that you believe give an impression about you and/or others that may or may not be real?

Comenta y Comparte.

Should She Be a Prisoner of Her Past?/ ¿Debería Ser Presa de su Pasado?

Should She Be a Prisoner of Her Past?

Hello dear audience of Another Mind Magazine. Today we bring you another story from our readers. She comes to us with a very serious issue, the situation is as follows.

The woman who writes, let's call her Sonia. Sonia is dating a man for about nine months now. They dated first back when they were teens and known each other since they were kids. They both grew up together in the same neighborhood. The years passed, she had a daughter with a man and his current partner has two children with his ex-partner. And nine months ago they met again and began to have and formed a fairly serious relationship. She says he is his first serious and formal partner and he is good to her, and she thinks they have a chance of a happy future; the problem is that she has been with several other partners (Not Formal) in the past and that he says he can’t forget.

Because they are from the same neighborhood, everyone knows, even a couple of men from her past have been with the mother of his children too. She did not hide anything from her past, she has been honest with him, and she has never been unfaithful, but he is seemingly quite jealous, and he expressed to Sonia that he did not want men from her past looking for her, so she took the initiative to close her Facebook page, her Instagram, her Whatsapp and even changed her phone number so that no one could contact her from her past. And with all that, her boyfriend says he thinks her past will continue to keep coming up and it’s making it too difficult to forget. That although he loves the person she is now, her past, that he hates, will continues to prevent him from being fully happy with her.

Worst of all is that if she wants to have sex with him, he gets upset and says that she only thinks about sex and he knows that this insatiable desire for her is going to lead to infidelity.
She doesn’t know what to do, she has done all she can do, she is honest with him, has not been unfaithful or anything, she wants to start a family with him and be happy, but this man can’t forget her past even if it’s behind her.   What advice can you give her?

Do you think she should end this toxic relationship that could turn into something beyond just jealousy and frustration, or should she stick with her partner and get away from everything that has to do with her past, a past that even though it’s not good, it will always be her past?

What do you think?

¿Debería Ser Presa de su Pasado?

Hola querido público de Another Mind Magazine.

Does Your Happiness Matter?/Acaso Tu Felicidad Importa?

Have you ever heard that one's own happiness is the most important?

Find your happiness!

But there are people who tend to give more importance to the happiness of others, something that is more common among women who are mothers.

It is quite a complicated dilemma. On the one hand we have our own good and on the other hand the good of others, something that is not easy to determine which is most important because we are all human beings and we all are equal before God.

Mostly you should seek to be happy without hurting others. And as for our children, many mothers choose the happiness of their children before their own, with certain exceptions, for example, a mother would do anything to take care of their children, feed them and keep them healthy, whether in the process the mother has to choose between feeding herself or feed their children, or if she has to choose between dressing well or buying clothes for their children. In both cases usually the mother chooses the welfare of the child, but in other trivial things like deciding whether a film or a toy or candy will make them happy, then the mother can measure the pros and cons before deciding.

What about the happiness of outsiders? That of friends, family etc.

What if you had to choose between your happiness and the happiness of your mother? Say you have a difficult relationship with your mom and she wants to move in with you ... if you refuse, she will be unhappy, but if you accept, it is very possible that you will be unhappy, then what do you choose? What is more valuable, your happiness or that of your mother?

What if your father wants you to be a lawyer and you want to be an artist? Do you choose to be an artist knowing that your father will be unhappy and possibly pull away from you, or would you choose to be a lawyer to please your father knowing it will make you unhappy?

I know people who have decided to pursue a career that their parents wanted only to please their parents, to then go and study what they really wanted even if that makes them lose many years in something that didn't please them.

Whose happiness is more important, yours or your parents?

But sometimes things get even more complicated when we want something that makes us extremely happy but we know that obtaining that would hurt another person.

Maybe you have a job, maybe you want to be president of the company, but imagine if in your work you and your best friend both want the same job. Both will compete for the same thing, and you know that if you want that job you've both wanted for so many years your friend is also in the same situation as you, they also want to be president of the company. Then who deserve it? You or your friend? Who is better qualified for the job? Would you be able to allow your friend to win, would you be able to give up on the dream you've both dreamed about, for your friend’s happiness?

There are people who feel good being martyrs and others are always waiting to be commended for being self-sacrificing, but that is not the best attitude. But the reality of it is that your friend probably does not give a damn if you feel bad as long as they win that job that you both longed for and you just lost, because all he cares about is his own welfare.
So is it okay to be this way?

Jesus says we are here on earth to do good, we must help others, to love others and serve the community.

Then again the dilemma of when two people competing for the same achievement, knowing that only one can achieve the, who deserves it?

What happiness is more important, yours or that of your neighbor?
Is it not true that we all deserve to be happy?

But if one day you find yourself in a position where you have to choose; what would you choose? Would you choose your happiness even if that causes sadness in someone else or would you sacrifice your happiness so as to not hurt another?

What do you think? Have you ever found yourself in this dilemma? Please comment below and let us know your thoughts.

************************************************* ************************************

How Do You Avoid Being Poisoned by Resentment?/Como Puedes Evitar El Ser Envenenado Por el Resentimiento?

Do You Have Resentment towards your partner.

Most people think, "All beginnings of a relationship are wonderful, but the end is always the same". I don’t think so. You can be happy forever as a couple if both of you learn to walk next to each other, with the same common goal and supporting each other as a couple. Perhaps one of the biggest problems is when someone hurts their partner, and the issue remains unresolved; when someone is keeping track in their mind of all the mistakes and failures of their partner.

The problem with resentment, or rather non-conformity is that, like all addictions, it generates dependence and tolerance develops. Whoever tries it runs the risk of liking the bitter “taste" of resentment, in some strange way enjoys it. If I understand well, actually the antidote to resentment is not one, but several. Take note below:

1-Stop digging into the past. Someone told me once a story about a monk and his disciple on their way to the monastery; they had to cross a river. On the shore there was a very obese and elegant woman, who also wanted to cross, but the river was high. So the monk took her on his shoulders and carried her to the other side. As she laid her on the floor, the woman looked at them with disdain and left without saying thank you. The disciple was furious. He said nothing, but he was seething inside. They walked several miles in silence and, on reaching the monastery, the disciple, angry, turned to the monk and said, "She was so heavy ... and she didn't even thank us." The monk laughed; and said, "Yes, I took her across the river and she was heavy. But I left her in the river, many miles behind. You are still carrying her."

The past is very heavy. It has sharp edges so that whenever you touch it your wounds grow deeper. Stop carrying it. When you leave the past in the past, when you stop considering what your partner said, did or should do and say, but did not, your life becomes much lighter. By talking people can understand each other and problems are solved or rather the indifference, the difficulties and the doubts.

2-Solve problems early at the right time to avoid anger. Let me tell you the story of a couple: I read in a book about this couple that was sweeping the backyard. A broom that was in the courtyard faced the sun, the rain, the air, every day: its handle was full of large splinters. Then, when the man was sweeping, he got a splinter on the ring finger of his right hand. He tried to get it out, but since he is right handed he couldn't, the more he tried to remove it, the more it got buried in his hand. The splinter was very large and painful. He thought of asking for help from his wife, but since she is a tough woman, who when she gets angry she can simmer on it for weeks. Weeks that would make him become the invisible man to her. When his wife finally spoke to him, and may have been able to help him, she reluctantly revised his finger, but since the splinter had pierced so deep into his finger it was not even visible. And though he could not see it, he could no longer bend his finger.

This is why Paul said in Ephesians 4:26:  “In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry," If you let the sun set on your anger, when you wake up there is a chance that you will no longer find the splinters and these splinters will poison you.
I think that if you have a problem with your partner, you should try to solve it that same day, no matter if you are tired, or don’t feel good, and your soul hurts from so much pain, you should not go to sleep until it is resolved. The next day, though sleepless, and tired of arguing about the same thing every time, maybe you'll feel a little bit better. He who becomes accustomed to sleeping with the problem unresolved, expecting that the night will "delete" these things, can make your partner find a liking to the taste of resentment. And it's something we want to avoid because we don’t want to lose our partner.

3-Obey the hardest law. Yes, the third, and perhaps the most difficult of all is simply to forget. We all know the story of the man who was bitten by a poisonous snake. He has time for only one thing, he either gets the poison extracted and he survives, or he searches for the snake to kill it, and they both die. An ancient Jewish legend says that after a long time, Cain and Abel met again, on a cold night, before a fire. Both remained a long time in silence, each beside the fire, until Abel says: "I can’t remember, please tell me: Was I the one who killed you, or did you kill me?” That is, I believe, the true measure of forgiveness.

Bitterness and resentment are poisons that kill any happiness and sometimes the best we can do, although we have been hurt, offended and humiliated by our partner, is to stop digging into the past, reproaching everything in which we have failed both to ourselves and our partners, and to solve things on time so we can discuss any questions you have about a specific issue, forget, and communicate more, and be more united as a couple.

Sometimes we feel weak; powerless to forgive and we forget to heal these deep wounds that have caused us some kind of resentment, and we don’t “forgive and forget”. If you need spiritual help, ask for it. We call it prayer. Prayer is a powerful spiritual medicine.

I recently saw in a book something that that great master, Henry B. Eyring, said: no two families are alike; so no specific tips will work for everyone, there isn't just one path to happiness. We all want to be happy with the people we love (our partner) and to keep all the commandments of the Father. That does apply to everyone. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment of the ten was, he said two who were not among them, and can be summarized in one: "Love". Surely that will lead to forgiveness and this in peace.

What is your experience with this? Comment Below and tell us how do you avoid Resentment in your life?

Tienes Resentimientos Hacia tu pareja?

Tomen nota a continuación:
