It's Not My Fault/ No Es Mi Culpa

It’s not my fault; it is someone else’s fault.

Many times we find ourselves trying to put blame on others for things that happen to us. Look what I my mother did to me, my sister, my grandmother, the government, basically anyone else, but me. We act as if we are the victims of circumstances and we try to free ourselves from blame for anything that happens to us.

It's like a defense mechanism. So we protect ourselves from the pain of feeling guilty about something. But the reality is very different from what we have us believe. No one can be guilty of what happens to us.

Now I hear can hear you muttering, well, if someone hurts me, then it is obviously their fault, not mine.

And in that sense it is true, but if someone hurts you, you are the one who decides how to react to it. You decide if you prefer to play the role of victim or not, it’s your decision if you want to be all bitter about your life or not.

No one can make you feel bad if you do not let them. No one can ruin your life, neither the day nor the time, if you do not let them.

Everything that happens to us is life experiences and that’s how we should take them. It's useless to constantly complain about what has happened to us, because every event is a lesson learned.

Try to find the good side of what each thing can bring.

What do you think? Do you agree with me or disagree? Tell us a story where something has happened to you and you have taken the decision not to be the victim and decided to learn from  it instead.

Tell us your story.
