Lo Que Hagamos en Las Redes Sociales Nos Impacta En Nuestro
Trabajo
Muchas personas jóvenes no saben esto, pero cada día más y más
compañías están adoptando unas reglas más y más estrictas en cuanto al uso de
las redes sociales. Hoy en día casi todos los trabajos tienen unas cláusulas en
el contrato que hacen referencia al uso del internet y las redes sociales.
Las compañías no tan solo pueden impedir el uso de las
computadoras del trabajo para uso personal sino que tienen cierto control (o
tratan de tenerlo) de tu uso de las redes sociales dentro y fuera de tu
trabajo.
Básicamente si tú te representas en el internet, ya sea en
alguna red social o en un blog personal, como empleado de dicha compañía y haces
algo que va en contra de las normas de la compañía tú podrías correr el riesgo
de ser despedido por tu comportamiento social aun fuera de las horas de
trabajo.
¿Qué significa esto? Significa que si tu mencionas en
Facebook en algún momento que tú eres empleado de X compañía y un fin de semana
te fuiste con tus amigos y te emborrachaste e hiciste el ridículo, y digamos
que tu trabajo es de maestro, o de abogado o policía o cualquier otro trabajo
que sea mal visto eso, podrías ser despedido.
Otro ejemplo es si
eres una persona que hace entregas a domicilio y te la pasas poniendo en
SnapChat videos de ti manejando, ten en cuenta que no tan solo estas rompiendo
la ley (ya que es ilegal manejar con un celular en la mano) sino que tu jefe o
cualquier compañero de trabajo te pudieran reportar y así mismo perderías el
trabajo.
Muchos jóvenes de
hoy se la pasan poniendo fotos de ellos fumando marihuana, emborrachados en
fiestas, diciendo vulgaridades o cualquier otra cosa inapropiada. Y este artículo
es para decirles que cuando vayas a buscar empleo tu potencial jefe va a ir a
Google y va a buscar tu email, tu nombre y tu teléfono para ver que puede encontrar
en el internet de ti. Y luego según lo que encuentre ellos van a determinar si
te dan el empleo o no.
Cuida mucho tu imagen
social, ya que las computadoras y las redes sociales ya se han incorporado en
todo, y si hay en la internet algo que tu no le dirías abiertamente a tu jefe,
entonces es hora de que re-evalúes tus decisiones y limpies tu reputación
social.

What We Do on Social Networks Impacts Our Work Life
Many young people do not know this, but every day more
and more companies are adopting stricter rules regarding the use of social
networks. Today almost all jobs have clauses in the contract that refer to the
use of the Internet and social networks.
Companies not only can prevent the use of work
computers for personal use but they have some control (or try to have it) over your
use of social networks within and outside of your work hours.
Basically if you represent yourself on the internet,
whether in a social network or a personal blog, as an employee of that company
and do something that goes against the rules of the company you could run the
risk of being fired by your social media behavior even outside working hours.
What does this mean? It means that if you mention on
Facebook at some point that you're an employee of company X and then on a weekend
you go out with your friends and you got drunk and made a fool of yourself, and
say that your job is being a teacher, or lawyer or police or any other work
that is frowned upon then you could get fired.
Another example is if you are a delivery person and
you post on Snapchat videos of you driving, keep in mind that not only are you
breaking the law (since it is illegal to drive with a cell phone in hand) but
your boss or co-worker could report you and you could lose your job.
Many young people today spend their time putting
pictures of themselves smoking marijuana, being drunk at parties, saying
vulgarities or any other inappropriate thing. And this article is to tell you
that when you go to look for a job your potential boss will go to Google and
will search your email, your name and your phone to see what they can find on
the internet about you. And then depending on what they find they will
determine if you get the job or not.
Take good care your social image, as computers and
social networks have already been incorporated into everything, and if there is
something on the internet that you wouldn’t openly say to your boss, then it's
time to re-evaluate your decisions and cleanse your social reputation.
